Here is my #1 tip
I teach my students the procedure for anything and everything.
- Lining up
- Walking down the hallway
- Handing in papers
- When to sharpen pencils
- and more….
I don’t go over the procedures once. I go over the expectations, role play several times, and then review it several times. Even a couple of weeks later, we are still reviewing them. The more I would go over procedures in the beginning, the easier my year will be.
