I am ALL about getting kids to get up and move around in the classroom. Gone are the days when I was school, and we sat the whole day long except at recess and PE. Who else remembers those days?
Research says students need to get up and move for every 30 minutes of instruction. That’s a lot of movement.
That’s where brain breaks come in.
I put together all the brain breaks I found into one set. There are 96 brain break cards included, each with student-friendly directions. All you have to do is print and go!
I like to laminate mine so they last and then put them in a big basket and let one of my students choose one. They LOVE to help lead them too, which is why I made sure they had directions that are easy for students to follow.
Brain breaks don’t take a lot of time, but they bring so many rewards.
If you’ve never tried using brain breaks in your classroom, try it and you might be surprised at how much it helps your students! And you!
