But I also have Star Bucks in other themes that go along with coffee (since pretty much every student knows all about Starbucks and coffee!) I have Baseball Bucks as well if you’re using the sport theme.

STAR Bucks reinforce place value in that students exchange their bucks at the classroom “bank” for the next bill. For example, they could exchange five $10 bucks for one $50 buck. I insist that my students know the correct exchange before they come to the bank.

STAR Bucks also encourage responsibility and the value of saving money. Every week or so, students can turn in their STAR Bucks for prizes. Many students choose to save their Bucks for the bigger prizes. I have included a list of prize ideas that I used in my classroom.
